The Carillon Foundation
An essential component in Carillon’s nonprofit approach is the Carillon Foundation, a 501c3 organization separate from Carillon Inc. The Foundation’s unique mission is to accept charitable donations for the benefit of Carillon residents, family members and the citizens of West Texas. While resident fees support the annual operating costs for Carillon Inc., Carillon Foundation raises funds in order to provide the margin of excellence for care at Carillon and to benefit the larger community through support of research into healthy aging.

Originally named John Knox Village, the community was founded in 1975. In 1990, John Knox Village became Carillon Life Plan Community, which has blossomed into a 25-acre campus providing excellence in resident lifestyles and meaningful interactions to stay healthy and happy in retirement. The Carillon Foundation was incorporated as a supporting 501(c)(3) organization to offer donors funding choices that support the mission and quality of life for all residents. The governing nine-member Board of Trustees is comprised of three Carillon residents, three business leaders from the Lubbock community and three current Carillon Board of Directors members. These elected individuals donate their time and talent to support the efforts of the Foundation.
