Carillon Foundation
In Service to Residents & the Lubbock Community

With a unique mission to serve the residents, families and staff of Carillon Senior Living, Carillon Foundation works to fund projects that ultimately improve the lives of seniors. Through the generous monetary donations of interested individuals, residents themselves, family members, corporate gifts, community grants, family foundations and bequests from community members, Carillon Foundation provides support in areas of benevolence and senior health and wellness.

From financial assistance for the innovative I’m Still Here™ memory care program to funding  more than $335,000 to continuing education scholarships for Carillon staff.  The Foundation’s impact is clear. Seniors are better served, better cared for and better housed because of the work Carillon Foundation supports.

Far-Reaching Impact of Your Gift
It takes more than resident fees to help a senior living community run smoothly. Campus beautification, staff uniforms, employee perks, special resident activities, seasonal decorations and rehabilitation equipment are just some of what Carillon Foundation has been empowered to provide Carillon Senior Living—through donations from people and organizations just like you.

Carillon Foundation Charitable Giving Programs

Discretionary Funds

These unrestricted gifts are used for a variety of improvements across Carillon’s campus and for other community-related programs and services where support is most needed. Examples of recent purchases made possible by discretionary funds include a campus media system, a new security vehicle, outdoor furniture, and event prizes for an employee tailgate. Anything that can make life for residents, staff and visitors at Carillon Senior Living more enjoyable is within reach with discretionary giving.

Memory Care Programming

Your gift supports daily activities, facility enhancements and staff training for our nationally recognized dementia care program. Carillon Senior Living is 10th in the world and first in the state of Texas to receive the designation as an I’m Still Here Center of Excellence™ through a partnership with the Hearthstone Institute. We also use a computer program called It’s Never 2 Late® (iN2L) that allows Carillon residents in memory care unique engagement opportunities—which is key to helping them remain connected with the world around them.

Wellness & Activities

Contributions support three Carillon Wellness Center Workout Facilities and help purchase new exercise equipment. In 2020, The Carillon Foundation resurfaced the indoor pool and recently purchased a motorized message table for physical therapy.  As a LifeCare® community—the only one in Lubbock and the surrounding area—it’s imperative Carillon Senior Living offers residents, at every level of ability and in all stages of aging, opportunities to engage with one another socially and connect with their interests daily.

Employee Education

Your tax-deductible gift helps provide the opportunity for Carillon employees to further their education as they serve Carillon residents. As senior living communities across the country struggle to recruit and retain high-quality professional staff and caregivers, Carillon Senior Living is proud of its support of its employee family. Since 2015, Carillon Foundation has provided over $335,000 in employee scholarships. Because of donations to the Foundation, employees are able to further their education and advance skill sets while providing excellent care and attention to residents.

Benevolence

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and through no fault of their own, a resident of Carillon Senior Living may find themselves in need of financial aid. The Benevolence Fund provides support for monthly rent, transportation, health services and personal care services. This discreet, respectful assistance can mean the world to a senior who has been thriving in the supportive, engaged environment of Carillon’s retirement community. Knowing a financial hardship will not prevent them from maintaining their lifestyle is a true gift.

Carillon Endowment

Your contribution to this permanently restricted fund—the cornerstone of our Foundation—helps to ensure we will be able to provide an excellent quality of life for future generations of Carillon residents. This endowment consists of contributions that are invested to generate income that can be used to support Carillon Foundation’s goals and the continued success of Carillon Senior Living.

Neil Chapel

Donations to the Neil Chapel Fund help support the maintenance of this unique house of worship and contemplation on the campus of Carillon Senior Living. The Foundation is focused on the ambiance and experience of the Chapel and has updated the audio and visual systems and assistive listening devices.

Medical Equipment

Through donations, the Foundation has been able to purchase major medical equipment—such as an electrocardiogram (EKG) machine and sit-to-stand lifts for Carillon House, Carillon Senior Living’s health center. Supporting the community in its efforts to provide the highest level of care for residents in assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation is central to the Foundation’s mission and vision.

Team Carillon

Celebrating employees with themed events, periodic goodies and snacks, and opportunities for engagement, connection and training is something the Foundation is proud to support with donations. In addition to the scholarship funds we disperse, we also provide Carillon Senior Living’s human resources team with financial support to create an atmosphere of appreciation and fun for the hardworking staff across every department and level of care at Carillon.

Your tax-deductible gifts are intended to enrich and empower residents of Carillon Senior Living to enjoy life to the fullest. You may designate your donation to be used for a specific program or allow your gift to be used where there is greatest need on campus. Whether it’s helping provide high-quality medical care through the procurement of necessary equipment, providing assistance for a resident who has experienced life-changing financial difficulty, or supporting the recruitment, retention and education of qualified employees, your donation—no matter the amount—makes a difference in the lives of seniors.
